IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE COURSE BE REPEATED EVERY THREE YEARS.  Companies are required by OSHA and state health and safety agencies to have a competent person on each jobsite; and every employee entering a confined space must be trained. OSHA has been strictly enforcing these trench safety requirements, and noncompliance can result in large financial penalties for employers who do not properly implement these regulations. This Seminar will educate your staff concerning the requirements of a “competent person,” soils classifications and trench safety requirements as noted in OSHA’s Subpart “P” Trenching Regulations.  These seminars should be made an integral part of your company’s safety program. It is a small investment that will keep your employees safe. It’s also an investment in your company…making it safer, more efficient and more profitable. Each attendee will be given a certificate of attendance and a

wallet size card.

Mr. Barrasso is one of only twelve instructors from across the country who was trained by OSHA and authorized to teach their Confined Space Entry and Trench and Excavation (Competent Person) Seminars. Most UCANE members have attended both of his seminars, as have management, safety and engineering personnel from the MWRA, DEP, BWSC, and the Central  Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel and Deer Island Projects.  John, once a utility contractor himself, is currently Executive Vice President of the Mechanical Contractors' Association of Connecticut. He teaches his material from the perspective of the contractor and is undoubtedly one of the best instructors in the country! He has received rave reviews of his seminars and will keep your attention from start to finish!

This turns into Main Street at UNH in Durham, NH. Go through one set of lights and down a small hill. Continue on Main Street past Holloway Commons, Huddleston Hall. Please proceed to your next right on to Mill Road and take the second right into Parking Lot C.

Stop at the small building at the entrance of C-Lot. Let the attendant know the meeting you are attending. The attendant will then provide you with a permit to park in C-Lot. Place the permit on the dashboard of your car. After you park your vehicle, proceed to the back of the parking lot C. You will see the Memorial Union. Attached to the right of the Memorial Union is Holloway Commons. The last entryway on the building to the far right of the loading docks is where you will enter (This is the ground floor) . The Piscataqua room is located on the 1st floor.

The Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS) invites you to attend a free informational seminar to address the importance of safe excavation practices as a matter of public safety, and the importance of avoiding damage to underground utilities such as electricity, gas, telephone and CATV systems. Also discussed are  state and federal laws that apply when planning and performing excavation activities, and how effectively using the Vermont Underground Damage Prevention System (Dig Safe) will improve your productivity.
